Series Addictions are Serious Addictions

What fun! Just finished book ten of this incredibly rich series. Quadruple love every character. I was reading about the size of the goal-keepers wife in relation to the goal-keeper out loud the other night. We were in hysterics. I WANT TO GO THERE--Botswana. After ten books I am sort of in Botswana, I guess. Thinking about purchasing book #11 right now! I am as tempted to buy as Mma Makutsi is to buy her leather (faux crocodile) shoes.

Just finished "Three Little Words" this week by Ashley Rhodes-Courter. It's a page turner. Unbelievable how our government protects the unwanted child. It's horrific. Makes you wonder what will happen to public health-care. The institutionalized living will give the best of us cause to question if we can do something for a lost child. Ashley's personal challenges, so full of truth, makes me look at my own children in a new light.

My Life in France

Loved this book. I'm not sure I would enjoy every recipe Julia whips up, but I made her biscuits and my family loved them.

One disappointing part of the book was her strained relationship with her father. But on the flip side, her most important relationship, that with her hubby, was extraordinary! Any thoughts on the bathtub greetings?

Catherine Called Birdy by Cushman

I just finished this book a few days ago.  It really jumps out at you.  I enjoy Karen Cushman's style and have also read her "Midwife's Apprentice".   She does not hold back when it comes to descriptions of Medieval life (sometimes it can get downright disgusting).  I believe Catherine and I have tons in common.  Spunky, stubborn with a soft side.  Not sure I would recommend it for GMB. There are a few sexual innuendoes.  Nothing explicit.  On to something a bit more academic--1776!

The Yearling
 by Marjori Kinnan Rawling

I saw this book on Amazon for 22 cents!  I hope shipping wasn't $35 or something ridiculous!
